Do you want to make full use of your Smartphone, IPhone Touch or IPad and your Wi-Fi connection? Here are some apps and products that might interest you.

Monsoon Multimedia’s Vulkano-the All-In-One Video Product

Vulkano is a sleek and stylish device that connects to your TV set-top box and enables a complete TV and Internet media experience on your Smartphone, iPad, PC, Mac and your big screen TV. It allows you to experience live or recorded TV, videos, photos and music on whichever screen you prefer, when you want it.

The configuration is simple. Just connect Vulkano with your existing DTH set top box (STB) and TV such that STB outputs to the Vulkano, while the Vulkano is connected via HDMI to the TV. Once connected, it allows you to stream your TV to any internet-connected PC, Android device or iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch.

ICam App- Webcam video streaming

The app allows you to remotely monitor multiple live video and audio webcam feeds from your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad over Wi-Fi, 3G and EDGE. The app continuously monitors the camera feeds for movement. If movement is detected, a message is sent informing you of the same.

The first step is to download the ICamSource application (free software) to your computer and the ICam application ($4.99) to your iPhone/iPad. The iCamSource software streams your webcam video and audio to iCam. Using this software, you can add up to 16 webcams or network IP cameras from a single computer.

The app thus uses the webcam as a surveillance camera. It could be useful for those who are looking for some kind of surveillance setup for their offices or homes.

DSLR Camera Remote app- Control your DSLR from your Smartphone

DSLR Camera Remote for the iPhone and iPod touch allows you to remotely trigger the shutter, or fire a supported camera. Just connect the DSLR to a computer running the lightweight onOne DSLR Camera Remote Server application using USB, download and install the client software and then the app on the iPhone/iPod. As long as both the iPhone and the PC are on the same wireless network, you’ll be able to see what the DSLR sees. The app also allows you to control the exposure and various other settings remotely.

While the DSLR Camera Remote Professional app would cost you $19.99, you could try the free DSLR Lite app first to know more about the app.

If you have come across any app or products for the Smartphones, which you would like to share with us, do let us know.
