How i scanned my Laptop with FB

Nice to see that Facebook is walking on the lines of Google, offering multiple services through a single platform. Two main services introduced by FB caught my eye. First is the FB App center, which i am still exploring. Other being the FB Malware Checkpoints, about which i am going to discuss now.

As FB states, the new Malware checkpoints would help the users detect any Malicious Software (Malware) residing on your computer, and help you to remove them by offering World Class Antivirus support, absolutely free of cost. We have already witnessed the pioneer work done by FB to help its users against the virus DNSChanger and now the free Antivirus support is worthy of a warm  gratitude from the Internet Community.

I too tried my hands on the new Antivirus support provided by FB by visiting the URL http://on.fb.me/infectedMSE and found it quite effective. What follows is the series of steps i undertook to free my Laptop from Malwares using Facebook.

Since i use Windows based Laptop i had chosen Microsoft’s Security Essential Package. Mac users can download similar software from the Apple’s site as shown in one of the images.
