Eega – The Indian graphical wonder

Bheee, bhinnn, bhinnn… is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it SUPERMAN??? Oh, its a housefly! But its not just any housefly, its Eega, the housefly with the heart and might of a human.

So far we have seen humans converted to super-humans by radioactive insects in movies. I guess its the first time in the history of Indian cinema, that they have taken the next step in the series of superhero creation by making the insect itself a hero.

Eega is the story of a man who is reincarnated as a housefly after his murder, and how he takes revenge from the villain. The movie is made in the Indian language Telugu (making Eega, which means Housefly, the south Indian Super…hmm Insect). And the saga becomes eye gluing, due to the stunning computer graphics used in the movie. The 3d models used, blend perfectly with the surrounding real environment and are designed to capture even the minimalistic details. Kudos to the CG Makuta VFX team. Splendid work!

Here is a sneak peak.

Though the story of a insect protagonist is not new. Few might remember the PS2 game “Mr Mosquito” released in 2001, where you play as a mosquito, sucking blood from the “Yamada” family. If you haven’t played it so far i would recommend it for the unique game-play. And as far as Eega is concerned, i think it has enough content to make it a captivating video game adventure. What do you say? Are you game for Eega?
